Fit, Specs & Care
How To Set Up The Harness?
All of our NDM 1 products are unisex and are designed and tested for both men and women. To set up the harness follow the steps below.
Put the backpack on. Adjust the horizontal chest straps to a comfortable length (The two "d-rings" allow you to change between a larger and smaller size). Use the outer ring for the large size and loop through both for the smaller size.
Adjust the vertical shoulder straps (If needed) to adjust the height of the buckle, the center buckle should align around the height of your solar plexus. Do note that a few models like Race 2.0 and Outlander PRO does not have this setting due to their low weight.
Care Instructions
Packs
We want you to follow the instructions on the care label for each product. Care labels are typically found inside of the product. If you can’t see it, look again. If you still can’t see it, contact us.
STEPS
After every ride, empty the pack completely and brush clean soiled areas with soapy water.
Never put your pack into a washing machine or dryer, this damages the PU coating. Only hand wash.
The pack fabrics can’t be ironed.
Zippers must be kept clean for improved lifetime.
To store: close the pack and keep it in a dry, well ventilated place.
Hydration Systems
ELITE
Reverse by placing your hand in the bladder, grab the bottom, and pull it back through the top opening, just like turning a sock inside-out. The molded opening can also be flipped after the bladder body has been reversed. Then, throw it in the dishwasher or rinse with mild soap and water. Make sure to let the bladder dry out completely while reversed.Â

Design & Action
Sick of your pack smacking the back of your helmet every time you drop into a steep chute or rail a high-speed berm? The MTB Hydro 12L Hydration Pack is a mountain bike hydration backpack engineered for riders who demand absolute stability on technical terrain. USWE's patented No Dancing Monkey 1.2 harness wraps your torso with elastic straps and a precision NDM buckle, clamping this pack to your spine so it moves with you instead of against you. The 12L of storage holds everything you need for all day rides without turning into a sloppy mess when the trail gets rowdy.
This hydration pack for mountain biking comes loaded with a 3L Elite hydration bladder featuring plug-n-play coupling for fast refills and zero leaks. The Quick Stash Pocket gives you instant access to a rain shell or extra layer without digging through zippers mid-ride. Built for gravel racing, enduro stages, or long distance cycling where you're carrying tools, snacks, and spare tubes, the MTB Hydro 12L keeps your gear organized and your focus on the trail ahead.
Tech & Specs
NDM 1.2 Harness: Four-point suspension system with elastic straps locks the pack tight for zero bounce on rough trails and technical descents.
3L Elite Hydration Bladder: Plug-n-play coupling lets you swap hoses or refill fast, with a wide opening that makes cleaning easy after muddy rides.
12L Total Volume: Spacious main compartment swallows tools, first aid kit, extra layers, and nutrition for multi-hour mountain bike races or bikepacking adventures.
Quick Stash Pocket: Open-top pouch on the back panel stores a jacket or vest for easy access when weather turns or temperatures drop.
600g Dry Weight: Lightweight construction keeps the pack nimble without sacrificing durability or storage capacity for long gravel rides.
Fit & Kit
Dial in the fit by adjusting the elastic shoulder straps and chest buckle until the pack sits high on your back without restricting your breathing. The NDM buckle clicks securely and releases fast when you need to ditch the pack at a trailhead or aid station. After rides, rinse the Elite bladder with warm water and hang it open to dry completely. The plug-n-play hose detaches in seconds for thorough cleaning or quick swaps between different USWE bladders.
FAQ
Will this pack fit over a chest protector or body armor?+
The standard MTB Hydro 12L is designed for regular fit. If you're wearing a chest protector or bulky protective gear, check out the Adventure Fit version with extended straps for extra room across the chest and shoulders.
How do I clean the hydration bladder after muddy rides?+
Rinse the 3L Elite bladder with warm water after each ride, then hang it open to dry completely. The plug-n-play hose detaches in seconds for thorough cleaning or quick swaps between rides.
Does this pack work for gravel racing and bikepacking trips?+
Absolutely. The 12L capacity holds tools, spare tubes, nutrition, and extra layers for long gravel races or multi-day bikepacking adventures without bouncing around on rough terrain.
Can I use this pack for trail running or just mountain biking?+
While it's built specifically for mountain biking and gravel cycling, the zero-bounce NDM harness works great for trail running if you need the extra storage and hydration capacity for longer efforts.
What's the difference between the 12L and smaller MTB Hydro packs?+
The 12L offers more storage for all day rides, stage races, or when you're carrying extra gear like a rain jacket, first aid kit, and tools. Smaller packs like the 3L or 9L work better for quick after-work rides with minimal gear.
Riders love how this pack stays locked in place on technical trails, with many calling it the best mountain biking hydration pack they've owned. Customers appreciate the generous storage space for tools, first aid kits, tubes, and snacks, making it ideal for coaching sessions and all day rides. The stable fit means you barely notice it's there when packed light, though some riders with larger chest sizes mention the straps could use more adjustment range at the longest setting.

Overall rating: 4.3 / 5 from 19 reviews.
No bouncing, enough space for a day, perfect choice for me.

Functionally I like it like I liked my previous USWE packs. However, I was very disappointed to see that internal zip pockets and a key retainer had been eliminated from this newer model.

I used this hydration pack for the first time yesterday and love everything about it but did notice it could utilize a lower waist strap to help keep the pack a bit more secure while hitting jumps. Other than that the pack worked out great.

Bag is a great size … fits all my gear and then some.

I have been using the 9 liter version for a while, wanted a little more storage space so I upgraded to the 12 liter version. I only wish there was a dedicated pocket for a phone like the 9 liter version.

Need more adjustment in the straps for larger chest sizes.
Kelly S.4/5Verified
Chest clasp too tight at longest setting and longest setting is not secure enough, I have both the smaller capacity and ordered the larger on because I incorrectly assumed the straps would be longer
Michael S.2/5Verified
Best mountain biking hydration pack ! It stays in place and has space for tools.
Loretta T.5/5Verified
I use this pack for Mtn Bike Coaching. The extra volume really helps with carrying all I need for the kiddos. Plenty of space for first aid kit, tubes and flat repair tools, snacks, and extra bottles. This is the 3rd pack I own and largest—all of your packs are great for their designed purpose…

Brilliant bag thank you.

I like the back pack.
The only downside is that I have a little big chest and upper body. So it's a little to tight. I've adjusted the straps to max. But it's still a little tight but it works. It would have been nice to have some separate straps to lengthen the ones sewn on.

So far after only a few short rides I like this pack more than my old Camelback MULE. The fit is nice and stable. Indeed, packed light I hardly know it is there.
I wish the tool pouch mesh pockets were deeper to contain tools better.

First It is hard to figure out how to open the bladder itself. You need to put a little efforts on sipping.

Food fit when bladder is 1/2 full. Pack is too light weight to fill the bladder all the way. Good size for a day MTB trip. Doesnt hold a helmet btw.
Added the option phone case to carry a pocket tool so that I dont have to take the pack off to search for a tool.
