Hailing from Udine, Italy, Lejla Njemcevic is a rising star in the world of cycling. Making her professional debut in 2014, she has amassed numerous victories and accomplishments. Lejla has secured the title of National champion in Bosnia and Herzegovina an impressive 19 times and achieved the distinction of being a five-time consecutive Balkan champion.

In the 2022 season, she clinched the overall World Marathon Series title and successfully defended it in 2023 by claiming the overall Marathon World Cup with a commanding lead of 280 points ahead of the runner-up. During the previous season, she achieved a notable 4th place at the World Championship in Glasgow, Scotland, and concluded the season as the #1 athlete on the UCI ranking list. As of the current moment, she holds the 2nd position on the UCI ranking list. One of the highlights of her career was securing the victory at the opening World Cup in 2023 held in the iconic Nove Mesto na Morave in the Czech Republic.
