ThePow - Alpine backpack with the perfect fit
High speed and action have always been a perfect match to our brand. That’s why we at USWE are super stoked about our first ever alpine backpack series, the POW. A protector backpack made for Freeride Skiing and Ski Mountaineering, that’s redefining the perfect fit for winter backpacks.
IT’S LIKE WEARING NO BACKPACK AT ALL
To USWE, a backpack isn’t just a thing that your carry on your back, loaded with equipment and gear. Nope! A backpack, like a glove, also needs to fit tight and to be super smooth so that you can perform on top. The fit should be that good, so it’s like wearing no backpack at all when you’re in action.
So, when we decided to develop the POW backpack, we used our best team of resources when it comes to product design, materials and of course experience in alpine skiing.
NO DANCING MONKEY™ + SNUG-ME HARNESS TECHNOLOGY
To secure the best fit on the market, the POW pack is geared up with our NDM 2.0 + Snug-Me™ harness system, that makes the pack totally bounce free in action. The shoulder and waist straps are all-in-one system (Snug-Me), that’s embracing your torso and waist while pulling the waist straps. It will hug you like an octopus, but without cramping your style. The stretch in the chest straps expands along with the chest during physical exertion, allowing a constant tight and compliant fit
The harness buckles up in the middle of your chest and is easily adjustable with perfectly loaded stretch webbing. The NDM 2.0 + Snug-Me system can also be adjusted in the back by pushing the back panel up or down including torso sizes (length) from 43-55cm at the POW 16 and from 45-55cm at the POW 25.
FULL BACK PROTECTION
The POW is available with 16 liters and 25 liters storage capacity and it’s designed for the alpine adventures in extreme winter conditions. Equipped with a CE-Certified full back protector (Lev.1) by SAS-TEC, that’s made of flexible viscoelastic foam with memory effect that returns to its original shape after impact or deformation.
STORAGE & ORGANIZATION
At the back there’s a quick access Avalanche Equipment pocket, where you can store your safety gear. At the back there’s also an external helmet carry system, a snowboard carry system, and on the sides there’s a ski carry system.

HYDRATION & THERMO CELL INSULATION
The recommendation for these pack is to use a 3.0L USWE hydration bladder (not included with the pack). The bladder is placed inside the main compartment a bladder sleeve that keeps the bladder in a secure position.
On the shoulder straps we’ve integrated the Thermo Cell insulation pocket. This pocket encapsulates the heat from physical activity to protect the drink tube from freezing even in the most extreme winter conditions. These pockets are also perfect for storing snacks.
The Thermo Cell technology requires that you produce body heat, that you’re using layers of clothes that’re breathable, and that you keep the zippers to the insulated pocket closed while in action. The technology has been successfully tested in -26 °C / -15 °F cold temperature, with a final result measured at +19 °C / +56°F inside the Thermo Cell pocket where the hydration tube was stored.
This is a unique and environmentally friendly solution, designed and developed by USWE for our winter backpacks. YES, we agree, it’s a suuuper cool product that you should try.
