Branden Petrie | From a Decade of USWE Hydration to His First AMA Pro Podium

For his first season riding with USWE, Branden Petrie reached a major milestone at Moab Hard Enduro. After a decade of racing with USWE hydration packs, he battled through three hours of demanding desert terrain to secure 3rd place and his first AMA Pro podium. Here’s how Branden’s season unfolded, and why USWE remains a key part of his race setup.

This was my first season wearing USWE gear! I’ve wore the hydration packs for 10 years now and I still remember I got my first one for Christmas when I was 16. I’m honoured to be working with USWE, as I have always seen it as a highly reputable and prestigious brand!"

"My highlight race this 2026 season was round 3 of the US Hard Enduro Series, Moab Hard Enduro. The weekend started off with a fast prologue which landed me on the second row, starting 1 minute behind the top 5 on row 1 for Sunday.  The main event started off great! I got the holeshot and quickly caught up to the back of row 1.

I typically am slow at the start and I have good endurance that helps me maintain and finish strong. I was patient while things felt like they were coming easy. I picked my way through the race calmly and made my way up to 3rd place where myself and another rider had an intense battle to the final section. After 3 hrs of racing through the tough desert terrain we both were very tired but I was able to push through and finish in 3rd for my first AMA Pro podium!

The main USWE product that helps me in the races is the hydration pack! I use the Outlander 4L and the Moto Hyrdo 8L. These work best for Hard enduro as we need at least 3 litres of water and room for a few tools and snacks.

New to me this year is the hands free system. I had always wanted to try it but was a bit sceptical of if I’d like it and now I can’t imagine going back! The difference in racing of being able to drink while still going fast and not taking a hand of the bars to reach for your hose is massive.  I’m also wearing the USWE Gear this season. I’ve been wearing the KALK and LERA gear lines.

The gear has treated me well from the heat of Tennessee to the desert of Arizona it’s kept me cool and protected!
