RÉMY MÉTAILLER’S GUIDE TO BC

RÉMY MÉTAILLER’S GUIDE TO BC

Article Highlight
01

Squamish, BC: "This is where I live. Home is often the best, particularly true for this iconic location in between the beautiful city of Vancouver and the top resort, mecca of Mountain Bike Downhill: Whistler. First of all it's gorgeous: The ocean, the mountain, the rain forest. Then we have the trails. Literally hundreds of trails, all different. It feels like you are hundreds of kilometers away from civilization in some cases, but you are only 15min from town. This is where I ride every day, and I never get bored."

Some of my favourite trails: Entrails, In N Out, Ditch Pig, Angry M, Intergalactic.

While Squamish is not particularly known for the food scene, I highly recommend checking Fox and Oak for Coffee and Donuts, Kululu for a Poke Bowl, Backcountry Brewing for a beer and pizza and if you fancy a nice Dinner, Whistler is only 40 minutes away."

Nelson, BC: "This is a must-visit place in Canada. The history of this town is interesting, and it leads to having some of the best food you can find in BC. The trails are long and intense, but a blast for the core riders. I highly recommend getting a coffee from No6 or Empire Coffee. For dinner, you must go to Marzano (Italian), Yum Son (Asian Fusion) or Broken Hill (BBQ).

Some of my favourite trails: Powerslave, Turn Style, Paper Bag."

Revelstoke, BC. "Known for the incredible snow in the winter, Revelstoke is also a well-established location for riding bikes in the summer. Just like Nelson, not only are the trails great, but the food also, with Dose Coffee a place you must check as well as Cantina Del Centro for post-ride Mexican. In term of riding, Revelstoke has a world-class bike park with a tone of elevation, including the world's longest flow trail, 5620, but also a tone of trails in the valley you can either pedal or shuttle.

Some of my favourites: Frisby Ridge, 5620, Cash Advance, Doomsday."
