In re-signing all riders through the next Olympic cycle, CFR looks to capture more wins on the World Cup circuit; to win the overall at Absa Cape Epic; and to continue down the ultimate path toward XC medals at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Sam Sunderland have been riding the tracks of the British motocross scene since he was seven quickly getting a reputation as an accomplished desert rider and becoming somewhat of a international superstar. His first major victory came in 2011 when he won two stages of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge and three others in the Australasian Safari. In 2012 Sam at just 22 years old participated in his first Dakar rally. A race that he during day one had great success in but had to cancel due to electrical problems. During the years to come Sam had great success when racing the Dakar rallys but always had to quit due to different problems. But as a true weekend warrior he kept racing and worked harder. And even though he wasn't able to finish the Dakar Rallys his talent did not go unnoticed when he joined the KTM family in in 2014. Toby Price is one of the most respected and well liked offroad racers. He is a hardcore racer with a more than impressive track record including four Finke wins, five Hattah Desert Race victories, five Australian Off-Road Championships and two national enduro championships. In 2015 Toby made his first attempt at finishing the devastating 9,000km, 14-day Dakar Rally. A stage win and an overall podium showed everyone watching that Toby Price was someone to watch out for going forward and landed Toby a full-time seat on the KTM Factory Racing Team. The next year Price lived up to all expecations becoming Australia’s first-ever Dakar champion at only his second attempt ever. In 2017 Price broke his leg but returned after only eight weeks to continue training and to continue his crazy adventure to dominate the Dakar scene in true weekend warrior fashion.
Laia Sanz is one of the top female Dakar racers. Her love for riding started at four years old riding her older brothers bike. She started to compete at the age of seven, and she may have finished last out of the eight participants. But the rush from competing made her want to race again even more. Sanz won her first unofficial edition of the European Women's Trials Championship in 1998. Two years later Laia Sanz won the male category of the Spanish National Trial Championship as well as her first Women's World Trials title and the Women's Trial des Nations.
